The Move to the Crib

Yes, we did it. Cade moved to his crib Sunday night. He has been sleeping in a pack-n-play bassinett that we had set up in our room up until now. He only wakes up once during the night now, so we decided that it was time. I'm pretty sure that it was a lot harder for me than it was for him. I feel like he's all grown up now! I don't have a newborn anymore. I sleep a lot less now that he's in another room... I have the baby monitor turned way up so that I can hear him breathing. I think I check on him about four or five times every night.

Shots!

Cade had his 2 month appointment on Monday. He weighs 12 lbs and 7 oz. He's in the 49th percentile for his height, and the 51st for his weight. A pretty average guy :) He had to get 5 shots... three in one leg and two in the other. The first stick caught him off guard... he just pouted a little and looked at me like "mom, what are you letting them do to me?" then he screamed like he has never screamed before through the next four. I hated it. I teared up, but didn't cry (I was proud of myself for that). Poor Cade had a fever off and on for the next two days. He's such a happy baby though, he's smiling in this picture, band-aids and all.

Camping

We went camping last weekend with our friends, Derin and Marilee. We stayed in Marilee's family's cabin (my kind of camping). It was so fun!

Russ and Cade after playing frisbee. The Packs beat the Murphys very soundly.

Cade and Russ taking a nap.

Marilee was Cade's first babysitter :) She watched him while Russ and I went four wheeling.

This is after we went four wheeling... I look like a coal miner. I don't know when the last time was that I got that dirty!!

Russ and Derin.

I took Cade's shoes off and dipped his feet in the creek. It took his breath away at first.

Here's Derin... sitting in the middle of the creek and fishing.

Here's Cade fishing...

and Russ fishing. They didn't catch anything.

Geaux Tigers

I'm sure that this post is going to make Russell very proud. Russ bought Cade a LSU mobile before he was born.. it has these little stuffed tigers on it, and it plays the LSU fight song. I gave him a lot of crap about it because I think that it was pretty over-the-top.... but Cade LOVES it... it is the funniest thing. I lay him under it and he will just stare at it and be perfectly still, then once I wind it up and it starts playing the song, he goes crazy. He just gets so excited! He starts kicking his legs 90 mph, and flinging his arms around everywhere. He can't laugh yet, but he squeals at it and smiles. It's so cute. Here are a few pics.

The Murphys Meet Cade

The Murphys (Ann, Conrad, and Dan) were all able to come out for Cade's blessing and stayed with us for about a week. We hated to see them go! Here's a few pics from while they were here.

Cade sure loves his Nanna. He loved all of the attention! He would coo at Ann all of the time. It was so cute.

This was one of those special occasions where Russ got to put out the LSU bedding... just for while his family was here though :) I washed the bedding before I put it on, and it died the inside of my dryer purple.
Dan and Cade

We went to temple square while they were here. We went on a tour of the conference center and went to Pres. Hinkley's grave. We ended the day with dinner at Hires Big H (I love that place!). Cade slept through the entire thing.

Cade and his Nanna.

Cade loves this 'bouncy seat'. Whenever he is crying, we put him in and he instantly stops or falls asleep... as long as we're bouncing him. Whenever I'm working from home, I park him in this thing under my desk, and bounce away. He doesn't make a peep the whole time!

Cade's Blessing

Cade was blessed on July 6th. It was so much fun to be able to share it with so many of our friends and family. Cade was a trooper... he didn't cry at all during the blessing (unlike his parents!) or church. Ann, Conrad, and Dan were all able to come for the blessing and meet Cade for the first time. We had such a great time.

Chad is so proud of Cade! Every time he holds him, he just stares at him just like this. It's so sweet.

Me and my cute baby.

Cade's getting pretty tired of these church clothes!

Conrad and Ann helped me so much with all of the food. I couldn't have done it without you guys! Thanks!!

Cade + Aleah

I'm pretty sure that Cade has a crush on Aleah. Cade and Aleah have a long history together... they've been friends since the womb... literally. Cade and Aleah met in their birthing class before they were born, and then found out that their parents are in the same ward! Aleah beat Cade by 9 days coming into the world. I actually went into labor when I was making dinner for Aleah's parents, Hollie and Jeff, after they came home from the hospital. Cade and Aleah have been on a few dates already (with parental supervision of course). Aleah slept through the first date, but I think that lately she has been paying a little more attention to him. Here are a few pics of the cute couple. :)
